Smokey charcoal potatoes

This must be one of the easiest camp recipes EVER! And it’s delicious. You might be skeptical at first, but believe me, once you have tried the Charcoal Potatoes, you’ll be tempted to have them with every meal.

  • Difficulty: Beginner
  • Serves: 4
  • Preparation time: 5 min
  • Cooking time: 30 min

Ingredients

  • 4 Large potatoes
  • 1 tsp Butter or sour cream per potato

Cookware that will come in handy

Directions

  1. With you campfire burning high and hot, put your potatoes in the fire. No need to wrap them in foil. Just place them on the coals.
  2. After 20 minutes, turn them over. Don't use your bare hands for this! The one side will be black and blistered, but don't worry about it. That's why they are called Charcoal potatoes.
  3. After another 20 minutes, take the potatoes out of the fire and let them cool down a little.
  4. Take a sharp knife and cut off the top of each potato. The inside should be cooked through.
  5. Place a scoop of butter or sour cream, some salt and pepper in the hole you've made. Eat with a spoon.

Enjoy!
